Mainline, is a quarterly publication by the DISC Trust in association with South Island needle exchanges. It focuses on harm reduction, health, and well-being for people who inject drugs in Te Waipounamu (South Island), New Zealand.

The Autumn 2025 Mainline edition focuses on harm reduction, health, and well-being for people who inject drugs in New Zealand's South Island. Key highlights include:

  • Health Services: Free nurse clinics in Christchurch, Hep C testing, drug-checking clinics, and mobile outreach services across the West Coast.

  • Harm Reduction: Articles on safe injecting practices, media misrepresentation of drug use, and ketamine safety tips. ​

  • Community Updates: New staff and services in Nelson, Timaru, Christchurch, Invercargill, and Ashburton, including rapid Hep C testing and equipment supply.

  • Advocacy: Updates on psilocybin research for addiction, Canadian activists challenging drug laws, and Glasgow's supervised drug-use facility. ​

  • Pharmacy Programme: Needle exchange packs available at nearly 200 pharmacies and outlets across the South Island.
