Stick it to hep C.

Easy test. Easy cure. All it takes to put the worry of hepatitis C behind you is an easy finger prick test and an easy new cure.

As many as 25,000 New Zealanders are living with hep C

You could be someone who has hep C without knowing it. That is because even though the symptoms can be barely noticeable, hep C can lead to serious illness. So, if you think you might have been exposed in the past, it is worth getting tested just to make sure.

  • Many people with hepatitis C do not have symptoms and do not know they are infected.

If you do have symptoms, they can appear any time from 2 weeks to 6 months after infection. In some cases, it can take many years for symptoms to develop.

    Symptoms may include:

    • fever

    • feeling tired

    • lack of appetite

    • joint pain

    • upset stomach

    • vomiting

    • dark urine

    • grey-coloured poo

    • yellow skin and eyes.

  • Our Hepatitis C services provide non-judgmental, confidential, and supportive care to meet the needs of people affected by hepatitis C. Grounded in harm reduction, we meet people where they are, whether that’s in the community, at a mobile clinic, or through peer-led initiatives.

As experts in hepatitis C, we are proud to have the highest test and treat rates in Aotearoa, a testament to our commitment and dedication.
